A collection of nine 8mm commercial films for use in teaching. The films were from the collection of the family of Dr. Lee Simmons. The films include: Mudded in Mud, unidentified film (Pictoreels, 1946), unidentified animals, Chimp the Aviator (1940s), Three Bruins in the Woods (1942)?, African Pygmy Thrills (1930s), Bug Carnival (1937), Camera Magic, and Mary Had a Little Lamb.
Opening Ceremony for the Omaha display of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt at the Omaha Civil Auditorium. Ceremony includes welcomes, choral performances, reading of names, and unfurling of quilt sections. Quilt sections are displayed on the floor of the arena with others hung on the hockey glass.
Sitting U.S. President Barack Obama visited Omaha on January 13, 2016, the day after his final State of the Union address. Included in the collection are five red and blue unsigned admission tickets, an admission ticket signed by B.J. Reed, a badge, a film (Hi8 MP cassette format), copies of the Omaha World-Herald and Gateway newspapers about the speech at UNO’s Baxter Arena. Also included is a thank you card from President Obama after his visit to Omaha.
Material from the celebration of the 1955 Tangerine Bowl Championship football on April 12, 2014, including photographs, news clippings, copies of the game film and audio, and other material.
