Scope and Contents Travel Files is 8.75 feet covering trips that Senator Hagel and/or his staff took during Hagel's two terms in the Senate. As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Hagel visited the continents of North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. On most of these visits, if not all of them, Hagel visited with the countries' leaders, key business people, American citizens operating in official government capacities, and other American citizens. The collection includes correspondence with students, faculty from UNL and other universities, and corporations, as well as correspondence containing information about visiting professors, guest speakers, essay contests, and seminars.  Subject files relate to activities, programs, seminars, institutes, and committees.

The collection includes diaries and journals, correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, and memorabilia related to the work, travels, and personal lives of Mary Rokahr and her sister, Elsie Rokahr.  The collection's teaching and extension materials relate primarily to home economics, women, and the University of Nebraska's teaching programs in Turkey and Yugoslavia.
