Forestry extension

The Maxwell Papers document his work with the forestry service throughout Nebraska. The records include field notebooks, outreach booklets that Maxwell either edited or wrote, newspaper clippings, photographs of Maxwell and his work, and awards received for his service as a forester and professor of the University of Nebraska. The records also include items relating to Maxwell's interest in the poetry of James Whitcomb Riley.

This collection consists of 50 boxes of manuscript material arranged in 4 series; (1) Works Progress Administration (WPA) Files; (2) Correspondence. 1936-1941; (3) Subject Files; (4) Miscellany.

Photographs and audio visual materials created by the Nebraska Forest Service on the topics of trees, forestry extension and education, soil conservation, insects, tree disease, and lumber. Materials include print photographs, 35 mm slides, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs, and reel to reel film.
