This collection consists of the papers of Ted Kooser and includes his writings in manuscript or typescript formats. Other creative work includes drawings, many of which are found in the journals and notebooks. The materials include correspondence from friends, colleagues, and poets, along with solicited and unsolicited manuscripts. There are resources on poetry, poets, publication, and numerous aspects of Kooser's career.

Scope and Contents The papers consist of typed manuscripts by Weldon Kees. Nearly all the works in Poems 1947-1954 and many of those in Collected Poems are represented by multiple drafts with annotations. There are also some unpublished materials including poems and a short story, as well as tearsheets of published poems. Scope and Contents

The manuscript poem is comprised of five stanzas with six lines each, written in Thackeray's hand on a sheet of blue writing paper. A published version of the poem appeared in The History of Pendennis (New York: Harper & Bros., [1870]) with the title "The Church Porch." The title on the manuscript is "at the church poor gate," with the word "poor" crossed out. The manuscript includes the markings "Ganwells" and "42" handwritten, in pencil.
