The Metzger collection contains materials pertaining to the career of James Metzger, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln alum. During this career, Metzger served as a superintendent of a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp, private businessman and USAID advisor based out of Turkey and Jordan. The materials include correspondence, bulletins, photographs and an autobiography of Metzger's life and works.
The collection consists of chancellor Joseph Soshnik's correspondence related to university administration and activities. Among the subjects are: the College of Arts & Sciences, a computing center, a George Condra memorial, ETV, the College of Engineering and School of Architecture, the Eppley Institute, international programs, libraries, military science, ROTC, the Schackleford-Marischal Teaching-Research Fund, and the University/Industry Planning Group.
The collection includes diaries and journals, correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, and memorabilia related to the work, travels, and personal lives of Mary Rokahr and her sister, Elsie Rokahr. The collection's teaching and extension materials relate primarily to home economics, women, and the University of Nebraska's teaching programs in Turkey and Yugoslavia.
