Scope and Contents The Charles E. Cather Collection is comprised of manuscripts, both handwritten and typewritten, of several of Willa Cather's novels and short stories. The majority of the manuscript material is from her novel Sapphira and the Slave Girl. There are letters sent from Cather to her brother James, her sister-in-law Ethel, and her nephew Charles.
