Terezie Pospísilová, Czech Heritage Diary
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of the personal diary of Terezie Pospísilová, which begins in 1904 with her arrival in Wilber, Nebraska. Most of the entries relate to the daily domestic activities of the Pospisil family. They contain information about the local weather, the cost of items sold and purchased at market, various local activities and events, and news from relatives still living in the Czech Republic. Pospisilova also mentions news regarding the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 and World War I. The diary ends in 1933. The diary is written completely in Czech, but an English translation is available for the years 1904 to 1913.
