The papers were donated to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln by Luis Romero in September of 1979. The papers consist mostly of manuscripts, newspaper clippings, and writings by or about Romero. There are some photos, audiovisual materials, and personal items.

Born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1916, Luis Romero was a novelist, short story writer, essayist, poet, historian, and art critic. Romero died in 2009.
