Biographical / Historical
Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry is a quilt artist and teacher based in Port Townsend, Washington. Born in 1947 in Elgin, Illinois, Fallert-Gentry graduated with a BA from Wheaton College in 1969. She also studied art at Illinois State University, College of DuPage, and University of Wisconsin. Fallert-Gentry lived in Northern Illinois until 2005, when she moved to Paducah, Kentucky, to take part in the city's artist relocation program. In April 2006, Fallert-Gentry opened the Bryerpatch Studio shop, gallery,and workshop center in Paducah's historic Lower Town Arts District. In 2014, Fallert-Gentry and her husband relocated to Port Townsend, Washington, where she works in a new studio overlooking Puget Sound.
