Scope and Contents
The records consist of telegrams from the wedding of Robert Cohen and Selma Hill at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1941. Included are Selma Hill's club memberships, certificates, and awards including the Lincoln Spelling Improvement Project, Mortar Board, and Sigma Alpha Iota, photographs of Selma Hill as a member of Tassels and Sigma Delta Tau. A single artifact is a University of Nebraska sweater from when Selma Hill was president of Tassels, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln pep club.

Biographical / Historical
Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on June 22, 1918, Selma Hill Cohen earned her bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1940. She served as a member of numerous clubs including the Sigma Delta Tau sorority, Mortar Board, Tassels, and the city Camp Fire Girls Council. She married Robert Cohen, from Omaha, on September 14, 1941. He earned his bachelor of science in engineering at UNL in 1941. They lived in Lincoln until 1959 and both died in Denver, Colorado, in 2007.
