Scope and Content:

The Clayton Yeutter papers consist of correspondence, speeches, interviews, travel itineraries and briefing books, Jeanne Yeutter tree planting materials, awards and biographical materials, newspaper articles, photographs, scrapbooks, audiovisual materials, and artifacts. The materials relate to Yeutter’s employment as Executive Assistant to Governor of Nebraska (1966-1968), University of Nebraska (UN) Mission to Colombia director (1968-1970), Assistant Secretary of Agriculture positions (1970-1975), Deputy Special Trade Representative (1975-1977), Nelson, Harding, and Yeutter Senior Partner (1977-1978), Chicago Mercantile Exchange President (1978-1985), United States Trade Representative (1985-1989), Secretary of Agriculture (1989-1991), Republican National Committee Chairman (1991-1992), Domestic Policy Counsellor (1992-1993), and Hogan & Hartson Counsel (1993-2016).
