One handwritten letter from C.F. Ansley to Grace Rushton Cortelyou, University of Nebraska, dated January 9, 1899. Ansley writes that they enjoyed reading Cortelyou’s story, “Blue Eyed Boy,” and that they have earned a place in “our group of strong writers.”

Biographical / Historical
Grace Rushton Cortelyou was born May 24, 1877 in Plano, Illinois. She garduated from Fairmont, Nebraska High School in 1891 and the University of Nebraska in 1900. She taught at Fall City, Nebraska High School and married John Van Zandt Cortelyou in 1904. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1934 where she lived until her death in 1942.
