Biographical / Historical
Journalism classes at the University of Nebraska began in 1894 under the direction of Will Owen Jones, both a student and a faculty member. Miller Moore Fogg, a professor in English, directed the School of Journalism after it formed in 1923. In 1979 the School became independent of the College of Arts and Sciences and in 1985 became officially the College of Journalism. It is now known as the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Arrangement
The collection is divided into two series. The first series contains the published magazine. The second series contains materials related to the documentaries, including research, interviews, film footage, drafts, editing notes, and the documentaries.
Custodial History
The records were transfered from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Processing Information
In 2022, Madison White processed the collection. A new accession was incorporated into the collection, which was largely made up of documentary files. Documentary files were grouped into documentaries. Not all audio and video media were identified, so some of the arrangement was based on where media was found in relation to other files. After arrangement, a new finding aid was created to reflect the new materials.
