Scope and Contents

The papers include Ella Robinson's correspondence, poetry, lectures, short stories, essays, and publications as well as two audio cassettes--one of a KZUM radio interview and the other labeled Side A: "Coffee House," Side B: "Voices".

The majority of Robinson’s poems are single page typescripts, some of these may include edits. There are occasional handwritten poems. The initial arrangement of the poems are alphabetical and later, chronological. Robinson included her handwritten signature or typed name and date on the majority of poems, with only a few with dates missing.

Robinson collected publications that included her work. She also collected publications focused on African-American Poets. Her papers include an almost complete run of "Poetry Pages" that is a monthly publication of Lincoln Chaparral Poets, in which Ella Robinson's work is included.

Ella Robinson is a poet who currently resides in Alabama. Robinson taught at the University of Nebraska from 1981-1991.
