Scope and Contents

This collection consists of an extensive filing system of index cards that contain specific pieces of information regarding particular categories pertaining to ten major Plains Indian tribes.  Included is information on Amahami, Apache, Arapaho, Arikara, Assiniboin, Blackfoot, Blood, Caddo, Cheyenne, Chickasaw, Comanche, Cree, Crow, Creek, Dakota, Delaware, Flathead, Fox, Gros Ventre Hidatsa, llinois, Iowa, Jicarilla, Kansa, Kickapoo, Kiowa, Kiowa Apache, Kutenai, Lipan, Mandan, Menominee, Missouri, Nez Perce, Ojibwa, Omaha, Osage, Oto, Padouca, Pawnee Piegan, Plains Cree, Plains Ojibwa, Ponca, Potawatomi, Quapaw, Santee, Sarsi, Sauk, Shawnee, Shoshone, Skidi Pawnee, South Pawnee, Teton, Wichita, Winnebago, Wind River, Shoshone, and Yankton tribes.  Topics are extensive but focus on general data, social structure, organization, war, technology, extractive processesm, religion, diet and many aspects of the lives of these tribes.
