Scope and Contents

This collection features photographic prints, slides, negatives, lantern slides, and moving images.  In general, the collection relates to the development of mechanized agriculture and the changing technologies involved in agricultural production.  The majority of the collection consists of images showing the artifacts, exhibits, and activities of the Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum as well as other collections of agricultural tools and technology, particularly tractors.  Also included are a few items related to tractor testing, farming in the first half of the twentieth century, and agriculture in Europe and Asia.  The materials relate primarily to the collections and activities of the Lester F. Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum and include images of artifacts and displays at the museum and at the Nebraska State Fair.  Most of the images are associated with mechanized agriculture in the twentieth century, but images of manual or animal-powered agriculture are also included.
