Photographs, Agronomy Department Records
Scope and Contents
The photographs from the Department of Agronomy were created between 1924-1962 and include prints and mounted photographs used as teaching aids to educate students in a Land Capability Class on conservation studies. Photo subjects include various land treatment examples (erosion, waterways, gully construction), farm equipment from Case, John Deere, Farmall, Ford, and others, native grass growth comparisons, Salt Creek Wahoo Watershed Project, State Land Judging Contest, and activities with local country schools, 4-H groups, and rural youth groups. Also included are photographs of an undated Madison County, Nebraska, flood and a 1924 sand blow near Thedford, Nebraska. The photograph prints are separated into a set of prints and a set of mounted prints.
