Scope and Contents
The newsletters contain general information on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln courses, research, faculty, organizations, facilities, and activities. Although content varies somewhat throughout the decades, newsletters from every period provide listings of summer sessions and courses, including correspondence and night courses. UNL News notes university activities from athletics to the arts, lectures, and notable campus visitors. Early newsletters list faculty marriages and deaths. Frequently recurring topics include university museums, high school accreditation, and state economic statistics. The newsletters also show how the university responded to contemporary events (for example, CCC correspondence classes and Works Progress Administration relief study centers) and adopted emerging technologies.
