Orin Goodrich, WWI Military Records
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of letters to his parents in Nelson, Nebraska, throughout the duration of his deployment (Sept. 1917 through May 1919), as well as letters from his brothers, Richard and Harold, to their parents. A set of postcards includes notes on the back of each card that provides additional description about the location on the front of the postcard, written by Goodrich. Other postcards are those Goodrich may have purchased while in Europe, many of which were placed in a photo album. The photographs in the collection include two photo albums containing photographs from Nelson, Nebraska, along with some from the University of Nebraska. The military service photo album and photographs includes images of Goodrich, his colleagues, camps, and other images associated with his military service. The collection also contains his uniform paraphernalia, including hats, bags, medals, and name plate.
