Bryan Political Cartoon Collection

Scope and Contents The collection consists of the political cartoons done by Homer Davenport, Jay Norwood Darling a.k.a. Ding, and John Tinney McCutcheon, pertaining to William Jennings Bryan Democrat from Nebraska who was elected to the House of Representatives in 1890 and served two terms. Though defeated in an 1894 Senate race and never again elected to public office, Bryan remained a highly influential national figure who had three unsuccessful runs for the Presidency, in 1896, 1900, 1908

Willis, Wayne, and Joseph Chambers wrote to their parents in Lancaster, Ohio. During the years these letters were written, only Joseph served overseas. Scope and Contents The Matthews correspondence is composed mainly of letters written during World War I by Charlie to his family. Folders 1-6 contain original correspondence to Mathew's father Lewis, his sisters Laura and Helen, his brother Lawrence, Helen's husband and Edith Sullivan, a childhood friend. Charles Russell Collection

Scope and Contents The items comprising the Russell Collection were gathered by R.D. Warden.  The collection consists of approximately 7,000 items, among which are 900 books.  Exhibit and gallery catalogs, advertisements, and news articles about the "cowboy artist" Russell and his colleagues are included in the collection. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln acquired the collection in 1977.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of correspondence and two manuscripts written by Charles Tenney Jackson.  Correspondence relates to publishing “The Buffalo Wallow” and to the acquisition of the manuscripts. “The Buffalo Wallow”, an autobiographical novel by Charles Tenney Jackson, was published by Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc. in 1953. The novel describes the author’s Nebraska boyhood. A sequel to “The Buffalo Wallow” was never published.
