Administration, University of Nebraska at Kearney

This collection contains primarily historical administrative records, correspondence, reports, photographs and ephemera compiled by a multitude of contributors over many decades. Historical objects relate primarily to the establishment, construction, administration and evolution of Nebraska State Normal School at Kearney through to its current iteration as the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Records are generally campus-wide, as opposed to being specific to any one department or subject area. The collection also includes the contents of a special oral history project designed to commemorate the school's 25th anniversary of acceptance into the University of Nebraska system.

The series contained in this collection are as follows: Series 1: Accreditation - reports and correspondence (1932-2008); Series 2: Buildings and Campus (1904-2018); Series 3: General records (1952-2018); Historical records (1902-2016); Series 5: Reports (1970-2003); and Series 6: Transition to UN system (1986-1994).

Portions of this fonds will likely be relevant to many other collections held within UNK Archives and Special Collections, especially Departmental collections and those specific to certain positions such as collection UNK-003 Office of the Chancellor.
