Content Description
The photograph album of Dr. William Bates holds 52 photos of members of the Omaha tribe, their homes, other buildings, and surrounding countryside. Also included with the album is a numbered list identifying people in the photographs. The list was created by Dr. Will Bates. The photograph numbered 52 shows two men in a buggy and the man on the right was identified as Bates.
A partial list of names provided by the seller: "Diddock, Dr. Picotte, Daniel Grant, Julia Decora, Minnie Hamilton, Walace Miller, Richard Hastings, Ardent Sannsoci, Long View, Children of Bertram Mitchell and Thomas Webster, Frank Saunsoci, Paul Lovejoy, John Clay, Francis Clay Grant, Mrs. Nathan Lyon, Harry Blackbird, Emily Webster, David Preston (White Weasel), Macy Indian School, Henry Morris (Yellow Smoke), Silas Wood, Indian Racetrack, Edward Esau, Alex Black, Simeon Hallowell, Walter Tyndall, Francis Robinson, Walker-Fields Cemetery, as well as others."

Custodial History
Purchased on ebay from seller 9lives9 on 1/8/2018. The photo album was purchased from Dr. William Bates’ great-grandchild, Galen Bates. Other photographs originally in the album were removed and sold separately.
