The collection is open for research use. Collection has not yet been arranged and described.
From circa 1974 until 2015, these plates were displayed in wooden cabinets in the second floor west dining room of the UNO Milo Bail Student Center. During a 2015 building renovation the collection was removed and placed in storage. During the summer of 2015 MBSC staff decided to transfer them to University Archives.
A label included with this collection reads: Cabinets and Plate Collection Bequeathed to the University of Nebraska at Omaha In Memory of Emil J. Hansen and Alma Hansen by Helen F. Hansen – Class of 1913 1973
A label is attached to the back of each plate: Marianne K. Festersen Collector's Plates, 701 N. 72nd Ave., 402-393-4454, Omaha, Neb. The display cabinets that were purchased with funds from this donation have been lost.
