John T. Langan Papers
Scope and Contents
The John T. Langan Papers hold material accumulated by John Langan during his career at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (1969-2008). The collection includes brochures, booklets, and correspondence related to Langan's work including material related to Langan's service as chair of UNO Chancellor John Christensen's inauguration committee, copies of Forum Newsletter: National Forum for Philosophical Reasoning in the Schools published at UNO, Philosophy and Kids grant project (1976-1977), A Bicentennial Education Tour from the Division of Continuing Studies and College of Education, Research and Teacher Education: The Nebraska Consortium for the Improvement of Teacher Education, and the Prejudice Project by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith and the UNO College of Education.

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. In 2008, when John Langan announced his retirement, Dean Steve Shorb of the Criss Library sent Langan a letter requesting historical and academic records for the University Archives.
