Scope and Contents
The UNO Engineering/IST Collection comprises paper files relating to the 1995 creation of the College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, covering the period from 1993 through 1996. These papers include notes and correspondence from John M. Newton, Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs; land proposals; proposed UNO/NRDA Agreement; news reports and articles; College of IS&T annual reports, studies, and dean's search information; news articles and other documents relating to the controversy surrounding the proposal to establish a separate engineering college at UNO; minutes, reports, budget, statistics, correspondence, statements, plans, and other information from the University of Nebraska Task Force on Engineering Education; other correspondence and committee information; proposals, and information on the regents' decision.

The collection is open for research use. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records.
