Scope and Contents

The UNO Office of Institutional Research Records primarily consist of reports created by the University of Nebraska at Omaha Office of Institutional Research (IR) and its organizational predecessors. Institutional Research print publications include the Management Information Series (on the characteristics of UNO students, full-time faculty, staff, degree-credit instruction, and faculty instruction load) (1975-1984); Audit Indicators/Academic Department Indicators (1980/1981-2010-2011); Enrollment Statistics/Enrollment Profile Reports (1962/1963-2011/2012); Age Distribution of Fall On-Campus Students (1976-1995); Fact Books (1982/1983-2010/2011); Physical Resources Development Program (1969 and 1970); admissions statistics (1994-1997); faculty statistics (unpublished printouts) (1979); University Identification Handbook (regarding proper use of the logo) (1991); General Information (1932-1954); Matriculant Reports (1936-1960); Enrollment Reports (1930-1959); and miscellaneous other IR reports and analyses. IR reports in electronic format on compact discs include UNO graduate catalogs (1951-2001), fact books (1982-2006), enrollment reports (1963-2004), and miscellaneous IPEDS reports. The collection also includes print materials not produced by IR, but collected and used by them, including an assortment of reports, conference proceedings, journals, research papers, pamphlets, and books from various organizations; books and reports from UNO faculty outside of IR; miscellaneous UNO departmental self studies, reports, and handbooks; and Nebraska enrollment statistics which include UNO along with other Nebraska institutions of higher education. Finally, the collection includes a small selection of unsorted binders containing enrollment statistics (1933-1953, 1963-1974) and degree statistics (1911-1973).

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.
