Scope and Contents

The Iowa West Public Art Posters comprise five posters, each featuring a different artist who created a major work of public art in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for the Iowa West Public Art initiative, circa 2007-2009. The posters feature Brower Hatcher's "Wellspring" and "Oculus" (2007), William King's "Circus," "Interstate," and "Sunrise" (2007), Deborah Masuoka's "Haymarket Rabbits" (2007), Jonathan Borofsky's "Molecule Man" (2008), and Jun Kaneko's "Rhythm" (2009). The posters are part of the curriculum created by Shari Hofschire and Joanne Sowell of the Center for Innovation in Arts Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

The collection is open for research use. Before 2014, the IWPA posters were donated to the Criss Library by Shari Hofschire, who, along with Dr. Joanne Sowell, served as the curriculum author for the poster series.
