Scope and Contents

The UNO Stationery Collection comprises stenographic and stationery samples from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and its predecessor the Municipal University of Omaha. The collection includes printed samples of newsletters, event programs, tickets, brochures, flyers, cards (post cards, report cards, and more), ledger sheets, invoices, folders, envelopes, memo sheets, letterhead, and other miscellaneous printed items and stationery, dating from 1945 through 1949. These samples represent a wide variety of topics and purposes and were gathered by the University of Omaha Stenographic Bureau to showcase their capabilities. A booklet of screen plates, lettering guides, and colors accompanies the samples from the 1940s. The collection also includes undated stationery samples, such as UNO letterhead depicting the Henningson Memorial Campanile (circa 1990s); Municipal University of Omaha letterhead; a University of Nebraska at Omaha Downtown Station envelope; and a UNO AAUP (American Association of University Professors) notepad.

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records.
