UNO University Relations Records
Scope and Contents
The UNO University Relations Records is an unprocessed collection. The collection includes meeting minutes, reports, project files, program information, publicity information, information about University Relations publications, enrollment information, website administrative information, institutional research, and other materials created and accumulated by the University Relations office.
New material added April 2, 2019: Three-ring binder including the history and former policies of University Relations, the precursor to the Office of Communications.

Conditions Governing Access
The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.

Custodial History
In February 2013, when UNO merged University Relations into the new University Communications department, the University Relations records were going to be discarded by staff. Les Valentine, University Archivist, visited the office and arranged the transfer of the records to University Archives. Facilities boxed and delivered the records to the library. Most boxes were packed by D. Sunde.
New material added April 2, 2019: Acquired by Erin Owen during her years in the UNO Office of Communications. After she left UNO they were gradually transferred to University Archives.

Separated Materials
UNO artifacts and memorabilia were transferred to the UNO Artifact Collection when the record group was appraised in March-April 2021.
