UNO Faculty Senate Records
Scope and Contents
The records of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Faculty Senate (1967-2021) include minutes, agendas, publications, committee handbooks, faculty salary reports, annual reports, attendance records, bylaws, budget information, correspondence, grievances, policies, topics for consideration, election information, resolutions, retreat information, schedules, membership information, and other miscellaneous information. Also included are the records of myriad Faculty Senate committees and subcommittees, with their attendant minutes, agendas, reports, correspondence, and other documentation. The records of the UNO Blue Ribbon Panel on Part-Time Faculty (1997) have been separated from the other files. The Faculty Senate collection includes material that has not yet been arraged or described (2001-2021).
A segment of Faculty Senate records from circa 1969-1991 have been digitized and are available online. A selection of more contemporary records that were received in their native digital format (predominantly as Word documents) will also be made available online from UNO Libraries.

Conditions Governing Access
The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.

File cabinets are arranged by topic or by committee and topic.
Boxed and bound agendas, minutes, and publications are arranged by date.
Materials received after about 2012 have not yet been further arranged or described.
Custodial History
Accession records are incomplete or absent. The materials originated with various members of the Faculty Senate. As of 2014, the UNO Faculty Senate had greatly curtailed sending new paper or digital material to the University Archives as documents were posted on the Faulty Senate's website. Selected digital files were transferred. In June 2015, Sue Bishop, staff for the UNO Faculty Senate, transferred 3 cubic feet (3 boxes) of correspondence and meeting minutes (2009-2013) to the University Archives. In June 2018, Sue Bishop transferred 1.5 cubic feet (3 boxes) of correspondence, meeting minutes, and agendas (2014-2017) to the University Archives. In 2022, the available digital files transferred to Archives and the files on the Faculty Senate website were uploaded to DigitalCommons@UNO.
