Scope and Contents

The records of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Office of Sponsored Programs and Research, formerly known as the Office of Grants Development, include grant proposal forms from all university departments, spanning the years from 1969 through the early 2000s. Both accepted and declined proposals are included. Accepted proposals may be accompanied by reports and other documents produced by the sponsored project. In addition to the proposal files, the collection includes the Grantwriter newsletter (1991-1996); booklets of funding opportunities (1984, 1986); proposal submission guidelines (1982); and four books completed with UNO release time or grants: Midnight and Noonday or the Accidental History of Southern Kansas and the Indian Territory; This new man, the American: Ideas, Experience, imagination, 1600-1800; Dennison Omaha's Political Boss; A Contemporary Adaptation of the Courier's Academie.

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.

Four texts written by faculty (1979-1985) with support provided by this unit have been cataloged and may be found by searching the library catalog.

Accession records are incomplete or absent. The materials originated with various members of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research.
