Scope and Contents
This black photo album presented by Dr. A [Amin____ah] Haider to the Center for Afghanistan Studies contains photographs of Afghans fighting the army of the U.S.S.R. in the 1980s. The inscription inside the front cover reads: “[Text to be translated.] Dedicated to the Center for Afghanistan Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Presented by Dr. A [Amin____ah] Haider Director of Department of Health | Shahid Afzali Fronts | Herat | Afghanistan | Add, PO Box 521 Peshawar – Pakistan.” Along with the Afghan Mujahedeen from the AFZALI Fronts photographed, there are images of weapons, Soviet military vehicles and artillery taken by the Afghans, children, the countryside, buildings, and graphic photos of the injured and dead including partial human remains.
