Scope and Contents

The oral history interview with Amy Ruth Primeau Richardson concerning her experiences as a Native American woman during the Great Depression was conducted by UNO student Janet Richardson on May 1, 1977. Richardson was Chippewa and born on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Belcourt, North Dakota. Richardson shared stories about her childhood, education in boarding schools, and life in rural communities.
