Correspondence is filed under the last name of the correspondent. Correspondence with officials from towns in Nebraska are filed under the name of the town. Correspondence with schools may be filed under the name of the school or the town. Correspondence with university officials is filed under the name of the university. Names of prominent correspondents are added under the Agent field of the folder, allowing for searching of the collection by name. Prominent correspondents may include other senators, members of the house of representatives, senior military leaders, members of the cabinet, foreign dignitaries, or prominent members of the press.
