Custodial History
University of Omaha student William Gasper, class of 1949, "borrowed" the fork from the Snack Shack in 1947. In 2004, in response to an Alumni Association request for memorabilia, he sent the fork to Anthony Flott, Director of Communications for the Alumni Association, with a letter explaining:
"Don't know if you can use this fork in your memorabilia collection, but I have been filled with remorse since 'borrowing' it from the University of Omaha 'Snack Shack' in 1947.
"As you can see, I have treasured it and tried to keep it in mint condition but it may have to be cleaned up a bit if it is to be displayed. Thank you for the opportunity to finally get rid of it."
Anthony Flott passed the fork along to the University Archives.
