Durango (Mascot)
Biography
The Mavericks became the University of Nebraska at Omaha mascot in 1971. Circa 1993, Durango emerged as the named character representing the Mavericks. From 1993 to circa 1996/1997, the Durango mascot costume was black with a light-colored muzzle and short horns. From circa 1996/1997 to 2001, Durango was completely black with long horns and huge eyes. The current Durango mascot appearance, which came into use circa 2011, is red with a prominent grin. Additionally, the UNO logo depicting the red bull's face is also referred to as Durango.

Annual Fund Playing Cards, 2006
A deck of playing cards from the UNO Alumni Association in honor of the 2006 Annual Fund. Includes the box and complete set of cards in order. Each card includes a factoid about the university on the suit side. The box and cards include "UNO Alumni Association Est. 1913" and an image of Durango. The two jokers are a photo of a Durango figurine.
Drawstring Backpack, circa 2015
One red, black, and white UNO drawstring back featuring a graphic of the Durango mascot's head turned to the side with only one eye visible. The bag was probably distributed at a UNO Hockey game or to members of the Blue Line Club. The sponsorhip or advertising text reads "OrthoWest Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Specialists" and "Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital."
Durango Mascot Costume, circa 2012
A Durango mascot costume typically worn by a UNO student at campus events. The costume includes the head, two feet, pants, and a tunic top. The is approximately 10 x 18 x 40 inches in size. The pants and top are made of a mesh material that is worn away in multiple spots from use. The interior of the head includes a bicycle-like helmet and styrofoam padding.

One red UNO Hockey goaltender's mask with face mask and the number 18. The helmet was autographed by members of the UNO men's hockey team and includes Durango head stickers on the back, which presumably indicate victories.

Mavericks corn mug, circa 1997-2011
A green UNO mug white "Mavericks" and the Durango head in white on two sides. The mug is 3.75" tall and 4.5" at its widest point. Manufactured by Quickpoint and the plastic used to make the mug was from corn products per the bottom of the mug. The version of the Mavericks logo dates this mug to circa 1997-2011.

UNO Durango Stress Toy, circa 2010
A squeezable stress toy in the shape of Durango, the UNO mascot. Durango is black with white horns and eyes. "Go Mavs!" written in red is on Durango's neck. It is approximately 4.5 inches long and 3.5 inches tall.
