(1965) in Sociology & Physiology from the Municipal University of Omaha, an M.S. (1968) in Criminology & Social Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Ph.D. (1976) in Sociology from South Dakota State University. In 1982, Professor Wakefield received the UNO Excellence in Teaching Award.
