Elroy Steele (1919-1998) was a Municipal University of Omaha/University of Nebraska at Omaha Professor (1961-1985, retired) and Chair (1964-1973) of Economics. He was born in Kirkwood, IL. He received a B.A. (1948) in Foreign Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and an M.S. (1949) and Ph.D. (1957) in Economics from the University of Iowa. In 1967, Elroy Steele was named the UNO Kayser Professor of Economics.
