Biography

Bruce Baker was a Professor and Chair of English (1960-1997) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Before that, he served as a graduate assistant (1958-1960). Professor Bruce Baker was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He received a B.A. in literature (1957) from Harvard University and an M.A. in American literature from UNO. He received a Ph.D. (1968) from Texas Christian University. He created the UNO course on author Willa Cather from Red Cloud, Nebraska. He served on the UNO faculty senate and was involved with the UNO honors program.
