Biography

Robert E. "Bob" Bernier was the Assistant Dean of the UNO College of Business Administration from 1973 until his retirement in 2016. He was also the State Director of the Nebraska Business Development Center, a position he has held from 1979 until 2016.

Professor Bernier developed the Nebraska Business Development Center from a small two-person organization into one with 54 employees in multiple locations. In 1990, Bernier was elected president of the Association of Small Businesses Development Centers.

Bernier was born and reared in Canton, Ohio. He received his B.A. (1971) in Journalism from Kent State University, and both his M.B.A. (1978) in Finance and Ph.D. (2000) in Public Administration the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He married Mary Macchietto in 2001.
