Biography
Born in Anson, Maine, Harold W. Manter earned a BA at Bates College in 1922. He received his MA, 1923, and PhD, 1925, at the University of Illinois. He became a member of the University of Nebraska's zoology faculty in 1926 and later became chairman of the Department of Zoology and Anatomy and curator of the division of parasitology at the Nebraska State Museum. Manter was a leading authority on trematodes.
