Wood, Ivan Daley

Ivan Daley Wood, a 1912 University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate in Agricultural Engineering, joined the university faculty in 1913. In 1914 he became extension engineer for UNL Ag Extension, a new position then and a new field. He was State Extension Agent, 1919-1940. From 1934-1935, he was director of State Emergency Conservation Work, supervising 17 US Forest Service erosion control camps. In 1935-1936 he became chief of Engineering, Plains Shelter Project with shelter belts strips in six states. In 1935 he was one of several UNL extension specialists to be selected by government agencies to work on federal projects. He moved to Denver in 1940.
