Biography

Poet Carole Oles was born in New York City and attended Queens College and the University of California, Berkeley. As of 2006, she had published eight books of poems and her poems had appeared in numerous literary magazines, including the Prairie Schooner. Oles has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Boston; Hollins College; Old Dominion University; and California State University, Chico. She has also been involved in writers’ workshops and communities, particularly the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in Vermont.
