Katy Christopherson is a quilt historian and is actively involved in the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society. She is co-author of Gatherings: America's Quilt Heritage with Paul D. Pilgrim, Gerald E. Roy, Maqs, and Kathlyn Sullivan. Christopherson was involved in the Kentucky Quilt Project, started in 1981, which documented quilts created in the state

Scope and Contents
The most significant portion of the materials are research files on quilts and textiles, which are dated from 1918 to the present. There are also newsletters, magazines, pattern books, and materials on quilt judging. Some of the items relate to institutions or groups such as the American Quilters Society, the Women of Color Network, and the Quilt Conservancy.
