Biography
William Kloefkorn received his M.S. from Emporia State University in 1958. He started teaching in Nebraska Wesleyan University’s English Department in 1962 and, made Professor Emeritus 1997, he continued teaching poetry writing. Named the Nebraska State Poet by the Nebraska unicameral in 1982, William Kloefkorn is an author of books of poetry, collections of short stories and children’s Christmas stories, and memoirs. He began Nebraska’s “poets in the schools” program.
