Shroder, John F., 1939-



John F. "Jack" Shroder is Emeritus Professor of Geography and Geology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He joined the UNO faculty in 1969 and retired in 2011. He was born in New York and spent his childhood in Vermont. He received his B.S. (1961) from Union College, M.S. from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and Ph.D. (1967) from the University of Utah. His research interests include geomorphology, natural resources, mountain geography, Hindu Kush, Himalaya, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. He is a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and a Licensed Professional Geologist. As of 2018, he is serving as research coordinator in the Center for Afghanistan Studies.

In December of 2000, Jack Shroder, University of Nebraska at Omaha Professor (1969-2011) of Geography/Geology, was interviewed by Jack Newton for Reflections in Time. Jack Shroder was born in New York and spent his childhood in Vermont.
