Biography
Michael Sherer is a longtime professor in the College of Communication, Fine Arts, and Media at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He started teaching at UNO circa 1985, and teaches film theory and criticism, media ethics, media law, and photography. His avowed areas of research interest are the legal, ethical, historical, and contemporary issues in photojournalism. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. He served as president of the National Press Photographers Association in 2002/2003.

Scope and Contents
The UNO Retrospective Photograph Exhibit comprises 28 matted photographs depicting the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus as it appeared in 1987 compared with earlier decades. The exhibit was created by Mike Sherer, associate professor of photojournalism in the Department of Communication (1986-7 employee directory), working closely Les Valentine, University Archivist.
