Dr. Robert D. Sparks received his M.D. from the University of Iowa in 1957. He was named the Dean of the Tulane School of Medicine in 1969. He was named Chancellor of the the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1972. He presided over the construction of the College of Nursing building, the Nebraska Lion's Eye Institute, the Clinic Building; and the opending of Eppley Science Hall. He increased the residency programs. He left UNMC in 1976 to becaome the Program Director of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
