Gilmer, Robert N.



Robert Gilmer operated restaurant Dixie Quicks and its companion RNG Gallery in Omaha and Council Bluffs for over 30 years with his husband René Orduña. Orduña and Gilmer met in New York in 1982 and moved back to Orduña's hometown of Omaha in 1986. Dixie Quicks and RNG Gallery closed in January 2018. In addition to Gilmer's responsibilities with the restaurant, he led RNG Gallery throughout its operation and continues to work full-time at ENCOR, a Developmental Disability Service Provider.

The Robert Gilmer and René Orduña collection is composed of personal and professional material from Gilmer and Orduña’s lives together.
