Münchhoff, Mary

 Person

Biography

Mary Münchhoff (1867-1942) was an international singer renowned in Europe in the late 1800s and early 1900s. She amassed a personal library of more than 2000 music scores, which served as her performance repertoire. She handed this collection down to her former student Mary Fitzsimmons Massie.

Her name is inconsistently spelled on source materials. Münchhoff appears to be most common, with Münchoff, Munchhoff, and Munchhof as notable variants.

For more information, see Ruetz, R. (1994). "The Mary Münchoff Music Collection." The Library User 14(2), 3, 5.
